What's New?

 QuickView Revamped

Do you have trouble with hatching?  Do you get drawings without their XREFs?  This update is just what you need.

We have become aware of the challenges faced by our users when drawings include hatching or externally referenced drawings so we have put together a new release of QSCad QuickView to ensure these challenges can be overcome quickly and efficiently.

We have added the following options to the Edit menu to assist in removing unwanted hatching

  • Off By Selection - this will enable users to identify which CAD layers the hatching is on and turn them off as they can in QS Cad (see previous Newsletter Article)
  • Switch off all Layers with Hatching – this identifies any layers that have hatching items and provides an option to turn them off
  • Move Hatching to Hidden Layers - this creates a new layer when hatching found with -QSCHatch on the end and moves the  hatching to this layer
  • Display List of Layers – enables the user to view a list of CAD layers with a button showing whether they are On / Off, users may click button to change the Layer visibility setting.  This list also has a search facility to look for specific text eg HATCH
  • Delete All Hatching - deletes all hatching from drawing

We have added the following option to the Edit Menu to assist with Externally References (XREF) drawings

  • Externally Referenced Drawings - displays a list of the XREF drawings so the user can see which drawings they should have to ensure the drawing displays as the designer intended

Finally we have added the following function to the View menu to assist when users open a drawing and it appears to be blank

  • Find Drawing - if the drawing is a dot then this feature can be used to toggle through the entities in the drawing to find the main drawing area

This update is available in the Customer Downloads section of the QSCad website (please note you will need a login to access this area of the website)
