"How on earth am I going to get this measured in time?"

This was a question posed by John Macaulay, of Al Habtoor / Murray & Roberts, when he saw yet another option for the steelwork for the roof of the Central Administration building for the new Zayed University in Abu Dhabi land on his desk.

Always pleased to help, we suggested that he make use of QSCad so he obtained a copy of the CAD drawing and left it with us whilst he ‘popped out’ to a meeting.

When he returned half an hour later we had already completed the measurement and were able to provide him with not only the total length of steel members but also a fully coloured up drawing and an audit trail showing each individual measurement carried out.

John was more than ‘chuffed’ with the result and was able to provide his Project Team with the costs they required in ‘next to no time’ as a result.
