Stand By for Action!
With the RICS actively promoting their recently published New Rules of Measurement for Cost Planning and soon to publish the Procurement volume which is heralded to replace SMM7 Masterbill customers are beginning to ask how we will be incorporating these new rules into our products.
The simple answer is that we have already fully adopted the Cost Planning rules by producing a new NRM Cost Planning Library which is available for both Masterbill3 and Masterbill Elite and that we already have plans to produce an NRM Procurement Library once the rules have been finalised.
The more detailed answer would lead us to explain how we have not only created a library of descriptions but also how we have written context-sensitive routines to incorporate the new measurement and coverage rules to enable users to quickly and easily get to grips with the new rules.
Even though there has been an increased interest we are yet to receive our first order for an NRM Library so it seems that it may still be some time before the Construction Industry fully embraces and adopts these new rules. The important thing is that we are ready
