eTendering Survey - the results!
eTendering Survey
the results!
Over the last few months a number of our users have shared their experience of electronic tendering with us by completing our online survey, the results make interesting reading.
-
65% think that their organisation could save more than £500 per tender by adopting an eTendering solution
-
Only 30% would use an eTendering system that cost £500 per tender
-
67% would make use of a free online eTendering system
-
Only 33% had made use of eTendering previously
-
0% reported that they were prevented from using eTendering by their own organisations directives or IT systems
-
25% reported that they had been prevented by their tenderers IT systems
-
The most common file format used was Excel at 50% followed by pdf at 25%
-
67% of those who had issued electronic tenders had received prices back electronically again with 75% of these being in Excel format
-
92% believed that their organisation would benefit from adopting an eTendering system
It seems that although 92% believe their organisations would benefit from eTendering adoption is still the problem but this is not due to existing IT systems or directives.
Some mentioned further factors to explain why they had been prevented from making use of eTendering and these included;
-
additional costs
-
fear of documents being altered
-
the willingness of contractors to participate fully
-
lack of knowledge.
After talking about eTendering for over 10 years it seems we are a little closer to realising the cost and time savings available.
We are convinced that the industry requires a simple, cost effective and secure system to provide the confidence needed to ‘try it out’ and this is certainly a view that was backed up by our Scottish Local Authority users recently when we discussed the future of eTendering with them and agreed to further create an online eTendering system that could be integrated within our Masterbill Elite system and available to Masterbill3 users too.
We will be previewing this system at our forthcoming conference in Scotland, why not sign up now, if you have not already done so?
