What’s New?

Coming Soon...

A number of new features were released in Version 3.09 and the development on the next batch is underway.  Why not take a sneak preview?

The release of QSCad v3.09 back in March saw the introduction of a number of new features which we have already covered (follow the links) and the rest we will be covering in detail in the coming months including:

  • Template Component Repeats - enables users that have made use of the Template Component facility to tap into the repeat facilities.
  • Improved user-defined text facility - enables users to add text and select the font, size and style that suits their drawing best.
  • Text Measurement - enables measurement items to be identified using text, similar to Block Measurement.
  • Offsets - users can now opt to offset either a linear or an area measurement by a user-defined distance from the line they are using to measure it.  This is particularly useful for centre lines, joists etc.
  • Launch QuickView from inside QSCad - users no longer have to open QuickView as a separate program they can do it from with QSCad.
  • Export Drawing to DWG - have you ever wanted to give your coloured up drawing back to the designer or send it to a client who only has a free CAD viewer, well now you can.

Work is also well under way on version 3.10 which will be released later this year, new features include:

  • Improved Legend Setup - shows the user which items have been used on the currently displayed layers.
  • Improved Legend - including the total quantities for each of the items shown.
  • Print Previews - have been added to the measurement summaries.
  • Separate Lengths - useful when numerous individual lengths need measuring.
  • Add your logo image - ability to insert a picture which can be used in conjunction with the improved user-defined test to create your own Title Block on your Measured Drawing.
  • Overlay CAD on Image - for those users who need to combine drawings in both formats.
  • Angle Calculator Facility - enables user to calculate the angle between two lines.
  • Associated Measurements - enable the user to add numeric measurements when measuring a length and linear or numeric measurements when measuring an area.
  • Curb race adjustments - new adjustment calculations within the Siteworks module based upon existing and finished levels.

We hope that these new features will continue to ensure that QSCad is simply the best CAD measurement tool available.
