Creating a Preliminaries Bill
Ever since we formulated the first outline plans for Masterbill Elite we have been determined that it should include the ability to handle Preliminaries and Preambles too.
Masterbill Elite includes a number of special features developed specifically with Preliminaries in mind.
Creating a Preliminaries Bill is a simple case of creating a new bill on your chosen project and selecting the Flat Bill Format from the Bill Properties page. Once this has been selected two further options are available; Standard Bill or Preliminaries Bill.
By selecting the Preliminaries Bill users are provided with a Bill Layout that includes two separate pricing columns; one for Fixed Costs and the other for Running Costs as can be seen below;
Once working on the Preliminaries bill users will see that they are able to specify whether an item is to be included or not using a checkbox – this was designed to enable users to include a number of clauses in their Standard Set of Preliminaries and then only include those they require for each particular project.
Of course users may make use of the normal facilities of a freeform Bill including the ability to resort items, repaginate and re-reference, together with the added flexibility that this format allows.
Finally it is also possible to issue the Preliminaries Bill as an electronic tender by making use of Masterbill Elite’s eTendering facilities.
We hope this will mean more people preparing their Preliminaries system in Masterbill Elite rather than struggling to produce them in Word or Excel.
