Cost Planner is designed to assist the Surveyor in keeping track of a Project’s cost as the design develops from initial sketches through to drawings suitable for tender.

Features Include:
  • Freeform descriptions
  • Detailed Quantity and Rate Build Ups (if required)
  • Extensive Search and Adjustment facilities
  • ‘Drag ‘n’ Drop’ items between Cost Plans
  • Full version control and comparison
  • Optional Laxton’s Approximate Estimating Library
  • Links to QSCad

The Cost Planner interface is designed to enable the user to make full use of the facilities without having to open multiple screens or dialogs.  The Explorer provides the user with quick and easy access to all Cost Plans prepared on the system.  This ability to make use of previous Cost Plans results in the system automatically creating a Cost Information Database for each individual practice without any additional work.

Cost Planner uses industry standard elemental sections or the user may create their own, as required.  Cost Plan items are then entered within each elemental section and their assocaited quantities and rates can be entered direct or calculated using a standard dimsheet or a detailed rate buildup sheet. Alternatively measured quantities can be imported from QSCad.

When an item is copied between Cost Plans the user can check it is relevant and if not either select an alternative item or adjust the item by:

  • A Tender Price Index
  • A Location Index
  • A combination of the two above

Cost Planner enables the user to produce a Cost Plan report in the format they/their Client require.

Cost Planner’s  reports can be printed on any Windows printer, include a seach facility and can even be exported to Excel for further modification if required.
